Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Marka-e-Haq – National Unity, A Pledge to Protect Nature
My Dear Compatriots!
Today, as we are celebrating Independence Day, two profound visions shine brightly in our hearts — the natural beauty of “Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” and the “Glorious Victory” of the Pakistan Armed Forces in the Marka-e-Haq. Both are symbols of our national identity, resilience, and hope for the future.
The Marka-e-Haq, An Unforgettable Tale of National Defense!
The Pakistan Armed Forces made history through Operation Bunyan Marsoos, delivering a resounding response to Indian aggression. This operation began on the nights of May 6 and 7, 2025, when India targeted innocent civilians. However, with unmatched professionalism and bravery, the Pakistan Army struck Indian military installations, decisively defeating the enemy. This victory was not just a display of military strength but also a testament to the unity, prayers, and trust of the entire nation.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, The Struggle to Protect Nature!
Our province is blessed with abundant natural resources, yet climate change poses severe challenges. Estimates suggest that 1.8 million people could face health risks, while disasters like malaria, dengue, and floods are on the rise. Despite this, we have launched robust initiatives under the Climate Adaptation Plan to ensure ecological balance and safeguard public health.
Vision of Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa!
Under the Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Vision, the Billion Tree Tsunami Project and the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami Project were launched to combat climate change in the province, resulting in billions of trees being planted across various districts. To maintain this greenery, the current provincial government has initiated the Billion Tree Plus Project, which will help mitigate the effects of potential climate change.
The Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Vision stands as a successful example of environmental conservation in Pakistan. Although challenges remain, the provincial government’s consistent efforts ensure that these projects will continue to play a vital role in maintaining ecological balance in the future.
Forest Conservation and Tribute to the Martyrs!
The forests of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are not only essential for ecological balance but also serve as a vital source of tourism, climate protection, and the local economy. However, illegal logging and the activities of the timber mafia have put these forests at grave risk. It is highly appropriate to pay tribute to the sacrifices of the Forest Department staff in the struggle against illegal logging and the timber mafia in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These martyrs not only fought to protect natural resources but also laid down their lives for the environmental security and economic stability of the province. Their sacrifices will always be remembered.
Wildlife Protection, Our National Responsibility!
Through the Pakistan Wildlife Protection Awards 2025, the State honored unsung heroes working to protect snow leopards and other endangered species. These awards reflect our commitment to leaving behind a sustainable environment for future generations.
Unity, Service, and Resolve
This Independence Day, we must remember that both national defense and environmental protection are our collective responsibilities, while safeguarding wildlife and forests is part of our cultural heritage. Every citizen must play their role in combating climate change.
Just as the Pakistan Armed Forces crushed the enemy in the Marka-e-Haq, we must unite to protect “Green Khyber Pakhtunkhwa”. Let us pledge this August 14 to make our homeland free from environmental challenges and impregnable in defense.
May God protect Pakistan – Pakistan Hamaisha Zindabad
